It’s official — I’m no longer a ‘mum rage virgin’.
I’ve popped that cherry good!
“How did it happen? Tell me EVERYTHING!” I hear you say.
Well, it happened this morning.
On entering the bomb site that was our kitchen … I flew into MY FIRST MUM RAGE!
I. LOST. MY. SHIT.
Holding Miss A who was happily chatting away to herself on my hip, I came into the kitchen — after changing her nappy and battling through yet another round of her far too advanced gymnastic/acrobatic skills — and, well ….
The sink was full of dirty dishes, the benches were covered in last nights ‘My Kitchen Rules’ escapade, the floor a sticky mess, the dish washer hadn’t been unstacked (and therefore — of course — wasn’t then re-stacked with said dirty dishes!), the Thermomix was a dirty disaster … AH!
IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR TO WAKE UP TO A NICE, CLEAN, KITCHEN!
Oof!
J loves to cook.
Awesome! And yum! His kitchen definitely rules.
J hates to clean up … Or at least doesn’t clean up most of the time.
Not awesome! Mum-rage-inducing. His kitchen definitely doesn’t rule!
So there it was.
On seeing the scene of the crime I flew into my very first MUM RAGE!
“How nice would it be to wake up to a clean kitchen?”
“If I don’t do it nobody bloody will!”
“Of course the dishwasher wasn’t unstacked!”
Muttering largely to myself — and possibly to Miss A who was awe struck by that point and sitting in her high chair drinking her bottle … while J hid in the toilet — I blitzed through the kitchen like a mini tornado … wiping, rinsing, scouring, stacking, unstacking …!
If you want a kitchen cleaned really fast AND efficiently … mum rage is the way to do it.
After a few moments of blitzful cleaning, J walked into the kitchen.
“Do you like how the quiches turned out?” he asked bravely.
“Yes, they look delicious.”
