daycare day chaos, organised (mostly!)

Daycare days are tough and oh so charged with emotion.

There are the extra tears, the additional anxiety. There’s the extra frustration, which reveals itself in Miss A’s urgent need to be held, to be close, to feel reassured.

It’s as if Miss A senses exactly what’s coming – another daycare drop-off – and she’s not having it!

Her protest comes in the form of said clingy cuddles, arms stretched out to be carried – “Up, up!” – and a sudden need to be as close to me as possible.

It’s not easy getting Miss A ready for daycare each week – let’s not talk about the ACTUAL drop off! – and in addition to the emotional ups and downs, there’s, of course, the practical side – making sure she’s physically prepped for the day ahead.

Between spare outfits, water/milk bottles, nappies, her sun hat, sleep sack and pacifier, and 1 or 2 of her favourite soft toys, you’d think we were packing for a weekend away!

And with all the things Miss A requires for her day in daycare, inevitably something almost always goes missing by pick-up time.

From dummies (aka pacifiers), bottles or a beloved soft toy, we somehow manage to misplace or leave behind at least one item each week.

Daycare – the Bermuda Triangle for baby gear! *Facepalm*

Enter Bright Star Kids.

A side note: This isn’t a sponsored post – just something I genuinely use and love, and thought was worth sharing.

With so many items lost to daycare, Bright Star Kids have been a total lifesaver for keeping everything clearly labelled – in the cutest of ways! – and easy to track.

After discovering the company on social media – Instagram, I think – I ordered their name label combo pack and a personalised name stamp, as well as a personalised backpack with Miss A’s name labelled on the front in the same daisy motif as the stickers – oh, so adorable!

And since the labelling loot was delivered, I’ve been labelling EVERYTHING.

From bottles, t-shirts, pants/shorts, sleep sacks, socks and hats, to backup dummies – I’ve been labelling like a mad person! Ha!

The labels themselves are great.

They’re dishwasher safe – although, of course, after a few dishwasher runs, the labels do show some wear and tear – microwave safe, and stick to pretty much anything.

And while the labels help me keep track of Miss A’s items, they also make me feel like I’ve got things a little more together.

Plus, having her items tagged with the cutest personalised labels, it’s my small, quiet way of saying, “I’ve got you, baby girl! You’re all set for the day ahead. It’s going to be great.”

So, yeah! I definitely a Bright Star Kids fan.

If you’re navigating daycare life and want to keep your sanity – AND your child’s socks – I’d highly recommend trying these guys out.

Organisation, but make it adorable! I’m here for it.
