With news that broke this morning (and spread faster than the breaking waters of a woman in labour), on Valentine’s Day 2021, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (the Duke and Duchess of Sussex) “revealed they are expecting their second child”.
Given my blog was inspired by the likes of ‘Tig’ it only seems fitting to write a post about the happy news.
With Meghan candidly opening up about suffering the heart-wrenching loss of a miscarriage last July, in what has been described as a “deeply poignant essay for the New York Times”, this news comes as a wonderful Valentine’s Day surprise.
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex is quoted as saying in an article published on BBC News.
Now, it appears that Meghan and Harry didn’t break the news themselves, instead, leaving it to, according to various media outlets, “their friend and long-time photographer, Misan Harriman” to announce the joyous news to the world through a ‘black-and-white image’, which, according to Elle Australia, was “taken on an iPad’ and ‘shoed the Sussexes sitting together outside in nature, with Meghan beaming up at Harry”.
Speaking to the BBC, a spokesperson for the couple says they are “overjoyed” with the news, while a Buckingham Palace spokesman adds that “the Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and the rest of the Royal Family ‘are delighted and wish them well’”.
Meghan and Harry’s second child will reportedly be eighth in line for the throne.

Oh, to live a life of that sort of privilege.
